PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYER CAMPAIGN
Winner: HM Revenue and Customs
“HMRC is very proud to have won this year’s National Payroll Giving Excellence Award in the public sector category. With carefully targeted communication, over 10% of our staff continue to give to charity via Payroll Giving, even in difficult economic times. We have achieved the Institute of Fundraising’s Gold Quality Mark for the fourth year running. In 2010-2011, nearly 8,000 HMRC members of staff gave to charity using Payroll Giving, with total donations exceeding £853,000. We know that these donations make a real difference to the charities supported by our staff. Winning a National Payroll Giving Excellence Award has encouraged us to look at what else we can do to promote Payroll Giving, including sharing stories of why our donors sign up to Payroll Giving, and what motivates them to continue to give to charity.”

CIVIL SOCIETY EMPLOYER CAMPAIGN
Winner: Marie Curie Cancer Care
“We at Marie Curie Cancer Care are thrilled that our recent campaign was recognised at the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards – giving via payroll is such a simple and tax-efficient way to donate to your favourite good causes and we shall continue to encourage our staff to participate in the Marie Curie Payroll Giving scheme.” - Thomas Hughes-Hallett, Chief Executive
“Payroll Giving is a much underestimated and undervalued method of giving which provides charities with a steady predictable flow of donations. Our staff are encouraged to support charities of their own choosing and are not compelled to donate to Marie Curie, opening up the scope for increased donations to all good causes – large and small, local and global.” - Fabian French, Director of Fundraising
